Brenda Radford, LMSW, LCSW

Brenda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an undergraduate degree in Behavioral Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She has over 25 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings. She provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, and conducts individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidenced based treatment modalities (CBT, DBT, Trauma/PTSD Recovery and Relapse Prevention) for adults, children and adolescents suffering with various mental, behavioral, emotional and substance use issues.

Brenda is well trained and very skilled at providing compassionate, client centered treatment approaches and receives very positive feedback from clients and families for the services she provides. She is an approachable, compassionate, competent, and caring clinician. She works with individuals who experience anxiety and/or depression from relationships, family or work settings or major life transitions. In addition, she helps parents of children with special needs. Issues such as ADD/ADHD and spectrum disorders can sometimes cause isolation, sadness and anger. Brenda creates a safe and supportive environment in which you can talk about your situation without fear.

Through the healing process, you can learn to manage stress, cultivate mindfulness and move from being stuck or overwhelmed to living a more fulfilling life. Trained in the DBT/CBT /Trauma focused Seeking Safety modalities of psychotherapy and Family Systems Behavioral/Parenting Approaches, Brenda finds these treatment modalities especially effective in helping people to understand themselves and the choices they make.

Brenda’s work, informed by years of training and experience in a variety of approaches, can help you overcome past and present traumatic life events and restore healing, self compassion and growth.  She has found that, by treating yourself with compassion rather than judgement, positive change happens.
