Karyn McKinzie is a Licensed Master Social Worker with over five years of clinical experience. Her Master’s Degree in Social Work was granted by the University of Kentucky in 2011. Her undergraduate: B.A. – Social Work, Western Michigan University, 2009. She began working as a newborn crisis assessor for the state of Missouri, moved on to become a school social worker in Oakland county working with children in the special education department, before she found my passion in the clinical setting in 2015.
Karyn began her career in community mental health as a mental health therapist in Flint working with children, adolescents and adults (individual and family settings) gaining experience with multiple disorders. Her range of expertise includes depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, intimate relationship conflicts, and trauma related concerns.
Karyn is an open, honest, engaging and caring therapist. Her clinical approach is a combination of different evidence-based therapy styles with the primary one being cognitive-behavioral therapy.
