I began my career in community mental health on as a Mental Health Therapist working with children, adolescents, adults and families that were chronically mentally ill gaining extensive experience with multiple disorders. There I learned that a collaborative approach with other health professionals i.e.: psychiatrists, case managers, primary care physicians, teachers, and parent’s etc. assist in achieving the highest level of mental health.
I have worked with children, adolescents and adults with various concerns. My range of expertise includes depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, intimate relationship conflicts, grief and loss. It is found that a therapeutic alliance with a client is a necessity in healing and I establish that through warm acceptance and unconditional positive regard. I have a solution-based approach to therapy in which active participation is encouraged. I work with the client to establish a clear understanding of the problem, develop a collaborative treatment plan, and utilize scientific based therapeutic interventions. I have an aggressive approach to therapy that is Cognitive-Behavioral based.
